Annual Taste event to highlight East Aurora’s vibrant culinary scene

Aug 22, 2017 | Events

The sixth annual Taste of East Aurora, featuring restaurants and food-related businesses with ties to the Greater East Aurora community, returns from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, on historic Main Street, from Olean Road to Riley Street.

“The event will take place rain or shine and is always a popular destination for guests who want to experience East Aurora’s expanding culinary scene,” said Gary Grote, executive director of the Greater East Aurora Chamber of Commerce. “While we are well-known locally and nationally as an arts community, our food-related businesses are running a close second in terms of popularity!”

This year’s event has grown to include more restaurants. Join your favorite restaurants and food-related businesses as the community welcomes some newcomers to the event such as Mikey Dee’s Café & Catering and Yoshi Sushi & Eatery. The popular East Aurora Farmer’s Market will also have several of their vendors taking part in the event this year including Cornerstone Café & Juice Bar, Jimmy’s Kettle Corn & Bee My Honey, Blue Eyed Baker and Deb’s Delights.

Food and beverage items will be priced from $1 to $4 per serving. Guests are encouraged to stop by the I-61 Church tent to vote for their favorite restaurants and earn a chance to win gift certificates to local restaurants in the categories of Best Bite and Best Sweet Treat. Additionally, The Old Hippies will perform from noon to 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the entertainment tent located mid street.

Title sponsor of the Taste event is I-61 Church. Presenting sponsors include the East Aurora Farmer’s Market, Key Bank, East Aurora Bee, Martyn Printing and Tops Markets, while supporting sponsors include the Bene-Care Agency, Renewal by Andersen, Sysco, The Gutter People of WNY, Lazer Remodeling, University Pediatric Dentistry at Toytown, West Herr Buick GMC and West Herr Cadillac.
