Dec 23, 2018 | Sports Scene

The Buffalo Bandits announced the Buffalo Bandits School Program presented by Intense Milk will return for its fifth year in 2019. The program, which will run from Jan. 2 to May 2, is open to students in grades K to 12.

As part of the program, Bandits players Dhane Smith, Josh Byrne, Chase Fraser and Ian MacKay, as well as the Bandits’ mascot, Rax, will visit schools in Western New York and Southern Ontario to teach lacrosse to students in a physical education setting. Equipment for the lessons will be provided by the Bandits. Over the past four years, the Bandits School Program has been able to reach 350 schools and work with 120,000 students.

In addition to the presentation, each student will receive a voucher good for one free ticket to a 2018-19 Bandits home game.

Only teachers and administrators can formally register their school for the program, and schools will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. To register your school for this program, visit Bandits.com and complete the form. Questions about the program can be directed to 855-4409 or by email to sc****@ba*****.com.
