Buffalo Bandits to host 3-on-3 lacrosse tournament

Oct 31, 2018 | Sports Scene

The Buffalo Bandits announced the team will be hosting the Buffalo Bandits Sharpshooter Tournament, a 3-on-3 tournament at KeyBank Center for two different age groups this coming winter.

The two-session tournament will feature a youth session on Jan. 5, 2019 and an adult (18+) session on Jan. 19, 2019. Both sessions will run from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The youth session will feature three age groups: Peewee (born 2006-2008), Bantam (born 2004-2005) and Midget (born 2001-2003).

Teams will consist of five players plus one goaltender. Indoor goalies are preferred, but outdoor goalies are acceptable. Teams must provide their own uniforms and are asked to bring one dark and one light color jersey.

Games will be played the width of the field and consist of two eight-minute halves with a running clock and substitutions being made on the fly. For the youth and adult’ sessions, modified NLL rules will apply and no wooden sticks or long poles will be allowed. Fighting will result in an automatic ejection.

Registration is $175 per team and includes a guarantee of three games plus potential playoff games, a tournament T-shirt, a 2018-19 Bandits Yearbook, an autographed player photo and a ticket voucher to any Bandits 2018-19 regular-season home game for each participant. The winners in each division will receive a championship medal as well as tickets to that night’s Bandits home game and recognition on the video board that night.

Teams can register at Bandits.com/Sharpshooter. Space is limited and registration must be completed before Wednesday, Dec. 12. For additional information, please contact Dan Ristine at da*********@sa****.com or 855-4409.
