Buffalo Sabres cap season ticket sales at more than 16,000

Aug 28, 2016 | Sports Scene

The Buffalo Sabres announced that the team has capped season ticket sales for the 2016-17 season at more than 16,000 tickets. The cap is designed to ensure the availability of Mini-Packs and individual game tickets for all fans.

The Sabres had 97 percent of season ticket holders renew their tickets for the 2016-17 season, marking the 11th consecutive season featuring a renewal rate higher than 90 percent. More than 2,000 fans remain on the Blue & Gold Club season ticket waiting list.

“A 97 percent season ticket renewal rate is a remarkable achievement for any professional team,” Sabres president Russ Brandon said. “We’re lucky to have a fan base that consistently provides so much support and we look forward to rewarding our fans’ passion by building on last season’s improvement.”

With season ticket sales capped, fans are encouraged to order Mini-Packs to save on box office prices and guarantee the best possible seat locations. Fans that held Mini-Packs last season can renew them starting on Wednesday, Aug. 31. More information regarding renewals will be sent to current Mini-Pack holders this week. Mini-Packs will be available to the general public on Wednesday, Sept. 7.

Purchasing a Mini-Pack gives fans an opportunity to save up to 27 percent off current box office prices. Mini-Pack holders also avoid ticket service charges and will have the ability to purchase playoff tickets before they go on sale to the general public (based on availability).

Fans who wish to become members of the Blue & Gold Club can enroll at Sabres.com. In addition to being added to the priority waiting list for Buffalo Sabres season tickets, members get the opportunity to purchase individual regular-season game tickets before the general public (based on availability), and also receive 10 percent off purchases at the Sabres Store and a discount of up to 30 percent on Mini-Pack purchases.

Individual game tickets for the 2016-17 regular season will go on sale to all fans on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 10 a.m. The Sabres have introduced a new ticket pricing model for all home games in the 2016-17 regular season that will adjust ticket prices to better reflect demand throughout the season.

Tickets can be purchased online at Sabres.com, in person at the First Niagara Center Box Office or by phone at 1-888-223-6000.
