Canisius High School rowers earn gold, silver at National Championships

Buffalo Scholastic Rowing Association’s team from Canisius High School competed this past weekend at the Canadian Secondary School Rowing Association (CSSRA) National Championships in St. Catharine’s, Ontario, earning two gold and one silver award.

Sr. Men’s 72 kg. 4+: Gold
Coxswain Owen Wittman, James Oh, Aiden Hart-Nova, Jeffrey Mueller, Zachary Mecca. 

Sr. Men’s 72 kg. 8+: Silver
Coxswain George Weckerle, Ryan Walter, William Herzog, Nathaniel Sass, Charles Korn, Maxwell Battaglia, Will Porter, Aiden Hart-Nova, James Oh. 

Jr. Men’s 66 kg. 4x: 6th
Jeffrey Mueller, Barry Colby, Nathaniel Siwiec, Zachary Mecca.

Jr. Men’s 72 kg. 8+: 6th
Coxswain Colin Lindaker, Nathaniel Siwiec, Joe Scinta, Dylan Sass, Charles Keller, Alec Monohan, Jaiyun Li, Mathew Talty, Owen Wittman.

Sr. Men’s 72 kg. 4+: Gold
This boat placed third at the U.S. Scholastic Championships which qualified it for the U.S. Youth National Championships at Lake Natoma, CA next weekend.
