Creative events and classes planned at Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery

Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery at 1168 Orchard Park Road in West Seneca has announced a variety of creative events in the coming weeks.

The March exhibit, “Landscapes, Cityscapes, Seascapes,” will feature artwork done in pastels, gouache, pen-and-ink, and colored pencil. The exhibit opens from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 2, and will remain on display through March 23.

April will highlight a “Member’s Exhibit” with gallery members showcasing their artwork in many medias including acrylic, pastel, clay, mixed media, photography and more. An opening reception will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 6.

Artist Entrepreneur: A Professional Artist Workshop with Sara Goldhawk, will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 14. Being an artist means running a business, and participants will be encouraged to expand theirs by considering new ideas and strategies for creating income. Think like an entrepreneur and take your art to the next level! A presentation will be shared, but bring a note pad and willingness to discuss your work. The cost for this workshop is $30.

A Swirls & Overlays Basket Class with Maureen Quale is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 20. This basket will be a pretty addition to any room in your home, or it can be given as a very special gift. Built on a solid oak base, you will learn the continuous weaving and overlay process. The cost is $45.

Wine, Women & Art with Andrea Oswald returns from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22. The ladies will be welcoming spring with a design of daisies and bumblebees on two wine glasses. Wine, coffee, water, cheese, crackers, fruit and chocolates are included, and the cost is $30 per person.

The gallery has issued a calls for artists for its May “Happiness” exhibit. What, where, when or who is your happy place? Share your happiness with words or imagery. Entries may include paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media, clay, jewelry, fabric, sculpture, fiction, poetry, short stories and other written explorations (up to 900 words).
