Elmwood Village Farmers Market opens on May 12

May 8, 2018 | Events

The popular Elmwood Village Farmers Market, featuring nearly 40 vendors selling fresh, seasonal and local produce and products, opens for the 2018 season at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at the corner of Elmwood Avenue and Bidwell Parkway in Buffalo’s historic Elmwood Village. Hours at the open-air market, a program of the Elmwood Village Association, are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, rain or shine, through November.

Entertainment on May 12 will feature Acousticopia from approximately 9:30 to 11 a.m. and Rockabilly Steve and BR3 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Hosting the market’s community group tables will be the Buffalo Scholastic Rowing Association, Master Gardeners, The Olear Team/MJ Peterson, and New Directions Youth & Family Services.

New vendors in 2018 include Sitka Salmon, Five Points Bakery, Spar’s European Sausage & Meats, and Long Cliff Vineyard & Winery.

Again this year, the market will act on its mission to provide increased access to fresh, healthy food by offering an EBT program. The market’s Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) system allows individuals and families receiving public assistance to purchase products from eligible market vendors. Please visit the Elmwood Village Association tent for details.
