The opening reception for Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery’s June exhibit, “Collage, Digital and Mixed Media Mania,” will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 2. The gallery is located at 1168 Orchard Park Road, West Seneca. The event is free and open to the public.
The gallery is also putting out a Call for Artists for two upcoming events. “Collage, Digital and Mixed Media Mania” is open to emerging and professional artists who can submit up to three pieces of artwork for the June exhibit. The gallery is also looking for garden-related art for its popular Garden Art Saturday event on Saturday, June 17. Wine, Women & Art with artist Andrea Oswald will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 11. Guests will create two beautiful wine glasses with spring flowers. The cost is $30 and all supplies are included.
Plein Air Outdoor Painting with artist Bernice Smith is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20. The cost is $45 for this five-hour workshop that will take place just two miles from the gallery. A supply list and registration form can be found on the gallery’s website.
A Zentangle Clock class with artist Kelly Barone will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, May 25. Come spend some time making a handcrafted working clock! This paper sculpture is a working timepiece that participants will design, decorate with tangles and assemble. It makes a perfect gift … or keep it for yourself! Tangle supplies are required, while all other materials are included. The cost of the class is $35.
A Wall Basket Weaving Class with Maureen Quale will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 30. The decorative wall basket can be used to hold mail or spring flowers, as a variety catch-all, or hang it in the door to hold your keys, cell phone, grocery list, etc. Another basket weaving class will be held on Wednesday, June 15. The cost is $40 per class and all supplies are included.
Acrylic Painting with artist Bernice Smith is a four-week class that will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 13, 20 and 27. For beginners to advanced, the cost is $80 and a supply list is available on the gallery’s website.
The annual Garden Art Saturday event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 17. Stop by and purchase garden-related items for your house, porch, fence or garden. Proceeds support the gallery’s Art Scholarship Program which awards a $500 scholarship to a local high school senior attending college in the fall to pursue a degree in art.
