Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery lists upcoming classes and events

Several exciting and creative classes, workshops and exhibits are planned at Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery, located at 1168 Orchard Park Road in West Seneca.

The gallery’s “embarQ” exhibit featuring the work of students in the West Seneca Academy of Art program from West Seneca West and East High Schools is currently on display through February. Many of these students are showcasing their talent in a professional setting for the very first time, and visitors will be amazed by the creativity and talent!

The gallery is also calling all artists for “Landscapes, Cityscapes and Seascapes,” Enjoy The Journey’s March exhibit. Artwork in colored pencil, pastels, gouache, and pen and ink will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24. A Painted Papers Workshop with Suzanne Borowicz will be offered from 10 a.m.to  2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 10 and 17. In this workshop, participants will use the method of painting with paper as taught by Elizabeth St. Hilaire. This is a free flow, no stress, no mistake method of paper painting that will inspire your creativity beyond your class experience. The cost is $120.

A Market Basket with Spring Flowers Class with Maureen Quale will take place from  6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15. This basket will be a beautiful addition to any kitchen, and the cost is $50.

Studio Acrylics with Bernice Smith will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 27, March 6 and 13. Studio is for those who have taken the beginner class and feel they are ready to move on or seasonal painters who want to work more on their own personal growth. The cost is $80 and more information can be found on the gallery’s website.

The next Wine, Women & Art with Andrea Oswald is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22. This evening’s group will be painting a beautiful glass plate with your favorite saying (photos on website). Refreshments are served including cheese, crackers, fruit, chocolates and pastry, and the cost is just $30 per person.

Saturday Workshop participants will make a Wet Felted Wool Bird House Pod with Suzanne O’Brien from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 24. Prepare your back yard for the return of nesting birds by creating a hanging felt bird pod. In this workshop guests will learn about the properties of wet felting and use those techniques to create a wool vessel. Hand-dyed wool and all necessary materials will be supplied. Wet felting can get wet and soapy at times, and hand-dyed wool can sometimes bleed, so please wear appropriate clothing and bring two old bath towels. All supplies are included and the cost is $68.

Artist Entrepreneur: A Professional Artist Workshop with Sara Goldhawk, will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 14. Being an artist means running a business. Expand yours by considering new ideas and strategies for creating income. Think like an entrepreneur and take your art to the next level. A Powerpoint presentation will be shared, but bring a notepad and a willingness to discuss your work. The cost  is $30.

Wine, Women & Art with Andrea Oswald returns from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22.  This evening’s project will be a set of wine glasses done in daisies and bumble bees! All art supplies and refreshments are included, and the cost is $30.
