Get ready to explore the wide variety of events and classes this summer offered at Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery, located at 1168 Orchard Park Road in West Seneca.

The opening reception for the “Mapping It Out” exhibit will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 8. All artwork in this unique exhibit will feature a map within the art, which will remain on display through July 30.

A Wine Basket Class with Maureen Quale is scheduled from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 12. This fun basket can me made in many variations thanks to accent colors, ceramic embellishments and/or custom-made bows. It can be used to hold a single wine or liquor bottle, store utensils in the kitchen, hold a dried flower arrangement, or store hair brushes and combs to keep the bathroom countertop neat. Or, use it for your own unique purpose. All supplies are included and the cost is $40 per participant.

“Create your Own Discharge, Over Did Scarf” with Susan Marie Borden will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 13. Creating your own design pattern, you will learn how discharge works in conjunction with over-dyeing. Discharged fabrics can be incorporated into more complex designs by over-dyeing with other colors. Additional color is added to the color-removed areas with a dye product called Dye-Na-Flow to create a three-tone scarf of rayon or cotton. Guests will start with a black scarf and will leave with a finished piece! The cost is $20, with an additional $8 lab fee.

Wine, Women & Art with Andrea Oswaldo returns from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 21. At your “Girl’s Night Out,” you’ll spend a fun evening with friends creating a piece of art to take home, while enjoying a glass of wine or two and some tasty treats! Guests will receive step-by-step instructions as they create a set of lovely hand-painted glasses. The class fee of $30 includes all art supplies plus wine and goodies, and all experience levels are welcome.

Marbled Zen – Tangling on Hand-Marbled Paper with Kelly Barone, will be featured from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday July 27. This class incorporates tangling with beautiful papers that are handmade by marbling artist Diane Yaciuk from upstate New York. Utilizing negative space, patterns and enhancements, this is a fun class designed to capture your whimsical side. Zentangle 101 should be taken as a prerequisite. Supplies will be included but a mini kit (basic supplies) should be brought. A simple set of colored pencils or watercolor pencils is optional, and the cost of the class is $40.

Do you like mixed media art? Would you like to create a piece of artwork on a bottle? Do you have a funky bottle that you would to do something different with while creating an outstanding artwork? Altered Bottles with artist and gallery owner Paulette Krakowski will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 28. Bring any bottles that you may want to use, old photos (copies of photos if they are important to you) and three colors of your favorite acrylic paints. The cost is $25.
