Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery announces creative events during May and June

Stop by Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery in West Seneca for a taste of “Happiness,” an exhibit on display through May. In this unique exhibit, several talented artists use their creativity to portray what they believe happiness is, or can be – an image, a place, a feeling. The exhibit closes on Saturday, May 26.

The gallery has issued a call for artists for its next exhibit, “The Gifts from Mother Nature.” Featuring anything with a nature theme, artists can display up to three pieces of artwork for just $30, or $25 for gallery members.

A lengthy schedule of classes kicks off with Acrylic Painting with artist Bernice Smith from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evenings starting May 8. Please visit the gallery’s website at www.etjgallery.com for a supply list. The cost is $80.

Wine, Women, & Art with artist Andrea Oswald will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 10. Participants will create two beautiful, funky wines glass with a mod-flower design. All art supplies and refreshments are included. A great “ladies night out” with family and friends, you must call the gallery to reserve your seat with a credit card. The cost is $30.

A “Divided in Two” Basket Class with Maureen Quale is planned from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 11. “Divided in Two” is a great basket alone and a great “sister” to the Divided Heart Basket.  Tons of functionality here! A solid wood base and handle finished with “Cherokee Wheels,” it’s a great beginner basket but fun for all levels of weaving. The cost is $40. A Basket Weaving Class will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 11. Please check the gallery’s website for more information.

“Tools for Marketing” with Sara Goldhawk is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24. Are your sales down or do you want to see them improve? Get a boot camp course in this two-hour workshop on marketing that will cover research, branding, advertising and more. This class is perfect for artist entrepreneurs and those on a limited budget. The cost is $30 for non-members and $25 for gallery members.

A free Live Art Demo with artist Bernice Smith will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 26. Guests can see a demonstration of art being made and meet the artist. This demo will be done in acrylics and you are free to watch and ask questions.

A Collage/Mixed Media Workshop with artist and gallery owner Paulette Krakowski will be offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday mornings, June 7 and 14. Create a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork from papers, jewelry, special photos, etc. You will need an 11×14 art board, acrylic paints, brushes and anything personal you would like to add. The cost is $60.

Learn to create your own bath bombs with Constance Rogers from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 21. Participants will learn how to create fantastic bath bombs with all-natural ingredients that nourish your skin, reduce muscle tension, relieve muscle pain and improve circulation. All supplies are included. You may keep your molds and instructions, along with the recipe, so you can continue to create beautiful gifts for family, friends and yourself!
