Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery lists upcoming events

West Seneca’s Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery, located at 1168 Orchard Park Road, has announced its schedule of events throughout June and July.

Visitors are invited to stop by for the gallery’s June exhibit, “The Gifts from Mother Nature.” An opening reception is set from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 8. Come in and meet the artists!

Additionally, the gallery has announced a call for artists in its July and August exhibit, “Moments,” a six-week exhibit with an opening reception on Friday, July 20. Artwork will be accepted on Tuesday, July 17 and Wednesday, July 18, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Choose from one of the following themes for your artwork: Under The Rain, Abandoned, Food, Trees, Dreams or Words. All mediums will be accepted, and artists may submit up to three pieces of artwork. The cost to display artwork is $25 for gallery members and $30 for non-members. Unframed size limits are 5×7 or 8×10 only.

Acrylic Painting with artist Bernice Smith will be offered on four consecutive Tuesday evenings, June 5, 12, 19 and 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Students are asked to bring a reference photo (with good darks and lights), canvas, acrylic paints, paper towels, brushes and pallet. Open to new and previous students, the cost is $80.

A Collage/Mixed Media Workshop with artist Paulette Krakowski takes place on Thursday mornings, June 7 and 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Create a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork from papers, jewelry, special photos, etc. You will need an 11×14 art board, acrylic paints, brushes and anything personal you would like to add such as a photo (bring a photocopy) or a piece of jewelry. The cost is $60.

Farm Basket Weaving with Maureen Quale is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 11. Participants will create a large bushel-style basket with a 10×10 base, available with your choice of either leather or wooden handles. A great accent piece, this basket will be large enough for the hearth or beside a favorite chair. Available in a variety of colors or without handles, with a Celtic knot or your choice of accent color. The cost is $60.

Learn to create your own bath bombs with Constance Rogers from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 21. Guests will learn how to create fantastic bath bombs with all-natural ingredients that nourish your skin, reduce muscle tension, relieve muscle pain and improve circulation. All supplies are included and you may keep your molds, instructions and the recipe so you can continue to create beautiful gifts for family, friends and yourself. This workshop will instruct you on two- and three-color swirls application and a secret Shea butter frosting. The cost is $30.

The gallery’s annual Garden Art Saturday is set from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23. Help the gallery raise funds for its Student Art Scholarship Program by purchasing funky, colorful pieces of artwork created for your garden, patio or porch.

Women, Wine & Art with artist Andrea Oswald takes place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 28. Create two beautiful rose wine glasses while enjoying a glass of wine and some goodies to eat. It’s a great girl’s night out and all supplies and refreshments are included. The cost is $30.

Eight artists from the gallery will also be participating in Cocktail & Canvas at the Roycroft Inn in East Aurora. The event takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 6. Stop in for a drink, some appetizers and art!
