Explore Buffalo plans An Evening at Knox Farm State Park

Jun 28, 2017 | Events

Explore Buffalo invites you to visit Knox Farm State Park, 437 Buffalo Road, East Aurora, from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 13, to learn the history of the Knox family’s farm and summer home! The Friends of Knox Farm will open the farm’s buildings, which are seldom open to the public, and Explore Buffalo docents will be inside each building providing a tour and the stories associated with each site. Tour the main houses, the polo stables where the ponies were kept, sheep barns, gardener’s cottage and many other historical buildings.

This a self-guided walking tour, done at your own pace, with enough time to enjoy both the buildings and the park. The park itself is open to the public, but entrance into the buildings will be restricted to ticketed guests. Explore Buffalo encourages guests to bring your family and friends, pack a picnic and make an evening out of it! If a picnic is not in your plans, the Village of East Aurora provides ample restaurants for dinner before or after the tour.

The cost is $20 general admission and $15 for Explorer Pass holders. Advance reservations are strongly encouraged but not required for this tour. Advance ticket sales will end at noon on Thursday, July 13. All tickets sold at the door, beginning at 4:30 p.m. on July 13, will be $25.

Plan on approximately 90 minutes to two hours to tour all of the buildings open for this tour. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather as the tour will proceed rain or shine. Photography is allowed and cameras are encouraged!
