Georgetown Capital Ride For Roswell team looking for riders

Georgetown Capital Group has played an important role in the Ride For Roswell almost since its inception. Company President Joseph V. Curatolo is one of the Ride’s Top 10 fundraisers since it began in 1996.

Several years ago Curatolo created a team for the Ride calling it team Kids Just Want To Have Fun. That’s because all the money they raise goes to enhancing the quality of life for kids undergoing cancer treatment at Roswell.

In the last six years the team has raised more than $250,000. This year’s goal is $75,000 and Kids Just Want To Have Fun is looking for more people to join the team.

“We pay our riders’ $20 entry fee. We also have a matching grant of $.50 for every dollar raised by the team up to $30,000,” Joseph Curatolo, president of Georgetown Capital Group said. “We want our team members’ fundraising to go further.”

This year the Ride has 15 different routes ranging from three miles to 102 miles. Those who cannot ride can join the team as a virtual rider or just make a donation.

After the Ride, all team members are invited to join the exclusive party at the “Kids Just Want to Have Fun” tent for food, beverages and surprises. It will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Our team members will also have access to a complimentary massage therapist to work out any of the kinks after the ride,” Curatolo said.

The team’s name originated from the Curatolo Family Endowment for Pediatric Cancer, which provides grants to RPCI to purchase entertainment and related items for the hospital’s pediatric unit. Curatolo established the Curatolo Family Endowment for Pediatric Cancer at RPCI several years ago because his wife Kathy is a pediatric cancer survivor.
