Mar 17, 2017 | Sports Scene

The Rochester Knighthawks Charitable Foundation, Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning and the Veterans Outreach Center are proud to announce a military-themed Game-Worn Jersey Auction.

On Saturday, March 25, the Knighthawks and Buffalo Bandits will wear special military themed jerseys that will be auctioned off with net proceeds going to the Veterans Outreach Center. The Knighthawks will honor our men and women in uniform when they host the Bandits at 7:30 p.m. at Connors & Ferris Field at The Blue Cross Arena.

“The Knighthawks are honored to continue our relationship with the Veterans Outreach Center and Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning to host our Military Appreciation Night,” said Knighthawks Executive Vice President of Business Operations Nate Snyder. “To help enhance our auction this year we are excited to be working with the Buffalo Bandits to offer their jerseys as part of the auction as well. This promises to be a great evening to celebrate the men and women in uniform as a thank you for everything they do for us.”

The auction begins online at 12 p.m. on Friday, March 17 and ends at 9 p.m. on game night, March 25. The minimum bid for a jersey is $150, and bidding is in increments of $25. Jerseys are also available for a “Buy it Now” price.

On Military Appreciation Night, the Knighthawks players will wear United States Air Force-inspired jerseys. Over 25 jerseys will be available to bid on, including those worn by stars like Dan Dawson, Cody Jamieson, Sid Smith, Matt Vinc, Scott Campbell and Brad Gillies.

This season, the auction will include jerseys from select members of the Knighthawks 2007 Champion’s Cup team, including Pat O’Toole, Mike Accursi, Mike Hasen, Pat Cougevan, Regy Thorpe and Scott Evans. Prior to the game, the organization will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Knighthawks’ 2007 championship.

The Buffalo Bandits will also participate in the jersey auction, as their black camo jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit VOC’s Buffalo office. Bandits fans can place bids on jerseys worn by 2016 NLL MVP Dhane Smith, goalie Anthony Cosmo, forward Ryan Benesch, former Knighthawk Brad Self and other Buffalo favorites.

On Military Appreciation Night, all military members, veterans and reservists are able to receive one complimentary ticket to the game. The Knighthawks will also donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of exclusive Military Night T-shirts to the VOC.
