Orville’s mattress event to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of WNY

Apr 7, 2016 | Lifestyles

Orville’s Home Appliances, Western New York’s largest home appliance dealer, announces a special weeklong event, “ZZZs for Families Mattress Event,” to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western New York.

From April 17 through April 23, Orville’s will donate 20 percent of the purchase price of all mattresses sold at any of its four showrooms in Erie County to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western New York, a community-supported organization dedicated to helping children and their families, most notably through its Ronald McDonald House, which provides affordable and comfortable lodging for families whose children are receiving medical treatment at Buffalo-area hospitals.

A family-owned business that has grown from a small single store operation in the mid-1960s to the largest major home appliance and mattress dealer in the area, Orville’s began selling such mattress brands as Sealy, Sealy Posturepedic, TEMPUR-Pedic and Stearns & Foster at its Buffalo-area stores just over a year ago.

“We’re very much committed to giving back to the Western New York community that made Orville’s a household name,” says Mickey Reali, president, Orville’s Home Appliances, Inc. “We are excited about this opportunity to spotlight Ronald McDonald House Charities, which supports and strengthens children and their families during their most difficult and challenging times. And, knowing that Buffalo is the ‘City of Good Neighbors,’ we’re sure that, together through this event, we can help children and families rest a little easier!”

“Orville’s has been a major supporter of The Ronald McDonald House in Buffalo for over 10 years,” says Sally Vincent, executive director, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western New York. “They are a partner that is always there for us, whether it’s sponsoring our annual 5K Run, donating appliances or hosting the many store sale promotions that benefit our house and most importantly, that benefit the families who stay at our house. Having clean laundry, cold food and drinks, and clean dishes to use are a few of the worries that Orville’s removes from our families, so they are able to concentrate on their first priority: their sick child. It is because of partners like Orville’s that we are able to provide a ‘home away from home’ for families when their world is falling apart. We cannot thank them enough.”
