Jan 17, 2018 | Sports Scene

The Rochester Knighthawks announced new partnerships with veteran-owned businesses RECON Rings and Tango Charlie Apparel to provide merchandise and support for the team’s annual Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, Feb. 3.

“We are thrilled to partner with RECON Rings and Tango Charlie Apparel for our fourth annual Military Appreciation Night,” said event organizer Charlie Ragusa, who is the Knighthawks digital/social media coordinator. “As an organization, we have made a commitment to do our part in supporting veterans within our community, so to be able to partner with two local, veteran-owned businesses is extra special.”

RECON Rings and Tango Charlie Apparel, which are located in Palmyra, N.Y., join Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning and Veterans Outreach Center (VOC) as title sponsors of Military Night.

“The Greater Rochester community has always been an incredible pillar of support to the veteran community, and it’s an honor to be a part of this event,” said Thomas Tartaglia, Sgt. Marine Corps, and Charlton Cornell, Captain U.S. Army. “As our veterans have an unbroken commitment to freedom we need to have an unbroken commitment to them. Thank you for your continued support.”

As part of their relationship with the Knighthawks, RECON Rings will donate rings to the players and coaching staff. On Military Night, fans can also purchase one of the high-quality silicone wedding bands which are perfect for active individuals. The proceeds from the sales will benefit OASIS Adaptive Sports, Inc., which is a nonprofit organization that offers instruction, equipment and support to disabled military veterans in a variety of sports activities.

Tango Charlie Apparel will produce the military-themed T-shirts for the Knighthawks’ Military Night. Tango Charlie Apparel prides itself on “exceeding athletes’ expectations by providing high-quality products at a reasonable price.” The sale of the shirts will benefit Veterans Outreach Center.

On Feb. 3, the Knighthawks will once again host the rival Buffalo Bandits at Connors & Ferris Field at The Blue Cross Arena. Both teams will wear special military-themed jerseys, which will be auctioned off to benefit VOC. Last year, the Knighthawks raised a record $17,500.

In appreciation of our armed forces, all military members, veterans and reservists are able to receive one complimentary ticket to the game.
