South Buffalo Alive adds a new twist to annual Garden Tour

Jun 25, 2018 | Events

South Buffalo Alive’s 18th annual Garden Tour will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 15, but this year’s event will feature an exciting new twist.

Rather than featuring dozens of gardens across South Buffalo and the Old First Ward, the 2018 version is being billed as a Garden and Restoration Tour and will focus on the Seneca Street neighborhood, which is currently undergoing a major transformation.

“The Garden Tour will feature several gardens and building renovations along the Seneca Street corridor, as well as the restoration of the Shelter House and Casino in Cazenovia Park,” said Marge Ryan of South Buffalo Alive. Open houses will take place at designated addresses, and maps will be available on July 15 at the Casino in Cazenovia Park, which is located up on the hill near the baseball diamonds. While the self-guided walking, biking or driving tour is free of charge, a suggested donation of $2 or more per person to South Buffalo Alive would be greatly appreciated.

South Buffalo Alive is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in the South Buffalo area. The organization is involved in the preservation and beautification of neighborhoods, promoting special events, and recognizing people who have made a difference in the community.
