Summer Timon wraps up another successful camp

Aug 5, 2018 | In the News

This year, local elementary school boys took classes in history, mythology, photography, geology and music, along with learning about chess and building catapults, at Bishop Timon – St. Jude High School’s annual Summer Timon camp.

Timon’s Crew Coach, Jacob Jordan, taught the campers how to row and prepared them to navigate their skills on the water.

During the first week of camp, the campers went on field trips through City Hall with a tour by Mark Schroeder, Tifft Nature Preserve and Letchworth State Park. The second week of camp included field trips to Buffalo’s historic waterfront, lessons in Gaelic football, and a trip down to Mulroy Park for Summer Timon Olympics.

Thank you to Gene Overdorf, Patrick McMahon, Ned Miller and Brian Overdorf who lead the camp every day. Timon students Nick Miller, Lincoln Ellicott, Matt Roche, Jeremy Glinski, Sean Glinski, Roger Marchione, Cameron Velasquez, Austin Reszel, Charlie Rozeski, Sean Hayes and Luke McMahon served as camp counselors.

Special thanks to the program’s sponsors for helping to make it all possible: B&W Custom Concrete, the Crowley family, Orthodontists Associates of WNY, Thomas Weber ’63, Thomas Williams ’79 and Ed Williams ’63.
