Three champions crowned at Bishop Timon Youth Basketball Showcase

Notre Dame Academy (7th grade), Sts. Peter and Paul (Hamburg) and Niagara Catholic each took home championship trophies in Bishop Timon’s recent Youth Basketball Showcase. Timon hosted 12 teams over three days.

“We saw plenty of hard working, talented players and coaches over the three days,” noted Timon Basketball Coach Jason Rowe. “It’s encouraging to see these young man work so hard and compete. I wish them all the best for this season.”

In the White Division, the 7th grade squad of NDA, coached by Brian Coronado, defeated the 6th grade squad from NDA for the title. Queen of Heaven captured the third place trophy.

Sts. Peter and Paul captured the Gold Division, defeating the 8th grade team from Notre Dame Academy in the championship game. Head Coach Mike Stahlka’s squad defeated Our Lady of Victory to advance to the title game. Third place in the Gold Division went to Southtowns Catholic.

The event closed out with Niagara Catholic defeating Nativity (Hamburg) in the title game of the Green Division. Coach Jonathan Clarke’s squad had defeated St. Augustine in the opening round. De Sales Catholic took home the third place trophy in this division.
