Vocális Chamber Choir to celebrate 15th anniversary

May 25, 2017 | Arts & Culture

Vocális Chamber Choir concludes its milestone season with its 15th Anniversary Concert, an evening celebrating the music and musicians of our great city. The concert will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 11, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1080 Main St., Buffalo.

“We are proud to be a part of the artistic fabric of Buffalo,” says Vocális Director James Burritt. “This concert not only celebrates our 15 years of making music in Western New York, it also pays tribute to our vibrant community and the supporters who have helped Vocális reach this milestone.”

The concert includes performances highlighting the choir’s unique a cappella sound, while paying tribute to inspirational Buffalo composers and musicians including the world premiere of a commissioned work by Vocális’ own Caroline Mallonee in honor of the choir’s 15th anniversary. In addition, Vocális happily welcomes Buffalo music legend Bobby Militello on saxophone, in the WNY premiere of James Whitbourn’s Son of God Mass, an exciting work blending the tonal sounds of the classical and jazz worlds.

Tickets are available at the door, one hour before the program — $15 for adults, $10 for students.
