Vocális Chamber Choir continues its history of collaboration in its presentation of The Music of Bob Chilcott. The choir welcomes world renowned artist Bob Chilcott to Buffalo for a weekend of music education and choral singing.
Events kick off with a Community Sing with Bob Chilcott on Friday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1080 Main St., Buffalo. A choral concert, Vocális Sings Chilcott takes place on Sunday, March 4 at 4 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
“Mr. Chilcott is a former member of The King’s Singers, and is an internationally acclaimed choral composer, conductor and clinician,” says Vocális Director James Burritt. Chilcott’s residency in Buffalo includes a workshop with three local high school choirs, a community “Come and Sing” event, as well as a concert with Vocális. Burritt noted that, “Students, and the community at large, have the unique and rare opportunity to meet, hear and actively work with one of the most important musicians of our day. Come and experience the profound power of song right here in Western New York!”
Community Sing with Bob Chilcott is open to all members of the community, beginner to expert. Admission is $5 at the door. Tickets for Vocális Sings Chilcott are available at the door, one hour before the program; $15 for adults, $10 for students.
