Young Audiences WNY bringing three fun-filled events to Dog Ears Bookstore

May 4, 2016 | Events

Dog Ears Bookstore & Café and Young Audiences Western New York are teaming up to offer three exciting educational events at the bookstore during May. Dog Ears Bookstore is located at 688 Abbott Road in South Buffalo.

Kicking off the events will be “In Jest with Nels Ross” from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday, May 14. Ross’ gravity-defying arts-in-education programs promote character education, wellness, math, science, reading and fun!

A kite-making workshop with Meg Robinson-Albers will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 21. Robinson-Albers is a self-professed “kite-maven,” bringing the joy of kite making and the science of flying to students in all grade levels.

A “Sacred Art of Mandalas” workshop with Jen Russo will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 28. Russo is a visual artist who has been teaching since 1998. She is a certified New York State art teacher and artist, and she focuses on figurative painting, murals and storyboard drawing.

The programs are open to students of all ages and are sponsored by South District Common Council member Christopher P. Scanlon. For more information or to reserve your place at any or all of these Young Audiences events, please stop by Dog Ears Bookstore or call 823-2665.
