‘American Pickers’ star to visit Pierce Arrow Museum for unveiling of historic Jell-O wagon

Sep 18, 2017 | Entertainment

Danielle Colby, star of the hit show “American Pickers” on the History Channel, will visit the Pierce Arrow Museum in downtown Buffalo on Saturday, Sept. 30, for a special event.

Colby will visit the museum to officially unveil an original 1904 horse-drawn Jell-O wagon. The pickers found the wagon in Louisiana and contacted Jim Sandoro, founder of the museum, who then traveled to LeClair, Iowa, to acquire it. Recent episodes of American Pickers featured both the discovery of the wagon and its purchase by Sandoro to return it to Western New York.

VIP admission to the event, from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m., is $125 per person and includes dinner and beverage. General admission is $50 per person from 7 to 8:30 p.m. (cash bar). Funds raised during the event will help conserve the wagon’s original paint and lettering. Colby will unveil the vehicle for the first time since its return to the Buffalo area.

The wagon is a significant symbol of turn-of-the-century advertising. If was made by George Higgins of Rochester for the Jell-O company located in Leroy, N.Y.
