The SPCA Serving Erie County, located at 300 Harlem Road, West Seneca, has an immediate need for volunteers in their Adoption and Behavior Departments!

“Our volunteers help in so many supportive ways,” said Mindy Ussrey, director of behavior and adoptions at the SPCA. “From adoption matching to cleaning up after the animals, volunteers in both the Adoption Department and the Behavior Department help make a difference in the lives of dogs, cats, and small animals.”

Volunteers in the Adoption Department help match potential adopters with animals that are the right fit for their homes. Adoption volunteers help with adoption matching, guest interaction, answering possible adopters’ questions, reporting animals’ medical and behavioral conditions, and cleaning up after the animals.

Volunteers in the Behavior Department ensure the overall welfare of dogs, cats, and small animals is maintained. Behavior volunteers help with enrichment in and out of kennels/cages, basic cleaning of kennels/cages and waste, leash walking dogs, guest interactions, and adoption matching.

The SPCA is looking for volunteers who are 18 years old or older.
