All roads will lead to the 82nd annual Annunciation Church Picnic to take place Aug. 16-18 at the Church of the Annunciation, 7580 Clinton St. in Elma, just five miles east of Transit Road. Weekend highlights will include live music, classic cars, numerous raffles, delicious food offerings, a beer tent and more, with much of the activity occurring under the parish’s brand new pavilion!
The fun begins at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, with a delicious fish fry, a Classic Car Cruise Night from 6 to 9 p.m. and music by Nerds Gone Wild under the beer tent from 7 to 11 p.m.
Festivities on Saturday, Aug. 17, kick off at 1 p.m. and include a pork chop dinner at 4 p.m. and musical entertainment by Jonny Peresan from 1 to 3 p.m. and West of the Mark from 7 to 11 p.m. Parish volunteers will also be serving Annunciation’s famous clam chowder throughout the day! Following 5 p.m. Mass, a special blessing of motorcycles and riders will take place outside the church at 6:15 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 18, begins with Mass at 8 and 11 a.m. The day’s menu will include a Wendel’s chicken barbecue beginning at noon and another opportunity to sample Annunciation’s famous clam chowder. The Road Runners Band will perform from noon to 2 p.m., followed by Backbeat 64 from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. First responders and emergency vehicles will receive a special blessing outside the church at 1 p.m., and Sunday Mass will also be offered at 5 p.m.
Annunciation’s picnic will also feature an opportunity to win a cash prize of $5,000, car lease or an amazing vacation package! Other picnic prizes and highlights will include a night on the town raffle, a handcrafted Amish quilt, theme baskets, grocery drawings, pull tabs, continuous food court and much more.
A kids’ area featuring carnival games, a bounce house, musical entertainment and lots of activities will be open all three days until approximately 7 p.m.
