Christmas in the Country Holiday Artisan Market is back in 2021

Oct 7, 2021 | Arts & Culture

A grand Western New York holiday tradition, Christmas in the Country Artisan Market returns to the Fairgrounds in Hamburg after the event was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic. Now, celebrating its 36th year, the event has grown from a modest craft show to a holiday market made up of over 400 artisans from across the nation.

This year, Christmas in the Country opens Thursday and Friday, Nov. 4 and 5, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day; Saturday, Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Discount tickets are available through Wednesday, Nov. 3 at select locations throughout Erie County. For a complete list of locations, please visit www.wnypremierpromotions.com.

Special measures have been taken to ensure patrons enjoy the event safely, including contactless online ticket sales, additional space between booths, recommended mask wearing and enhanced cleaning procedures.

The artisans will be spread out over five buildings at the Hamburg Fairgrounds.

Christmas in the Country features only handcrafted items from the nation’s finest small business artisans. “Most of the artisans were out of business for the past 18 months,” said Dan Kaczynski, organizer of the event. “We cannot think of a better way to kick off the holiday shopping season than by supporting small businesses.”

Given the size and scope of Christmas in the Country, it is difficult to see and do everything in one day, so Premier Promotions will offer a complimentary return pass for every day of the event. “Now more than ever, we want to give our patrons the ability to enjoy the market at their own pace,” said Kaczynski.

Attendees to Christmas in the Country will find unique and only handcrafted creations including gourmet foods, craft beverages, spa-quality bath and beauty products, trendsetting jewelry, hand-poured aromatic candles, pottery, original wall art, custom woodwork, home décor and holiday gift items galore.

“This is an opportunity to make gift buying and shopping very meaningful, because it’s a one-of-a-kind shopping experience,” said Kaczynski. The artisans will be spread out over five buildings at the Hamburg Fairgrounds.

For 36 years, Premier Promotions has produced high-quality, extremely successful artisan events including Springtime in the Country, Springtime in Rochester, Christmas in the Country, Christmas in the Country Rochester and Yuletide in the Country. The events are consistently ranked among the Top 100 artisan shows in America by Sunshine Artist magazine. In 2019, more than 90,000 visitors attended these events purchasing more than $5 million in high-quality, handcrafted goods from juried artists and artisans. These events have also helped raise more than $1.8 million for Western New York charities.
