Unable to hold its annual fundraising gala for the second consecutive year due to ongoing pandemic restrictions, the nonprofit Dog Ears Bookstore & Café in South Buffalo will hold a Supporters Sweepstakes virtual drawing on April 24 with a top prize of $5,000! A total of $10,000 in prizes will be awarded.
Tickets are priced at $50 each and only 500 will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Tickets can be purchased at the community bookstore, located at 688 Abbott Road. The live virtual drawing will take place at 7 p.m. April 24. In addition to the $5,000 grand prize, there will be a $2,000 second prize, $1,000 third prize and four $500 prizes.
“The past year has been extremely difficult for many businesses and organizations, and Dog Ears is no exception,” said Executive Director Thomas McDonnell. “A dramatic loss of event revenue, plus a drop in bookstore and café sales due to the pandemic have made this fundraising event critical for future programming. On a positive note, we’re confident that the overly generous Western New York community will make this a hugely successful event!”
