Dog Ears to welcome ‘The Blind Blogger’ for book-signing event

May 27, 2017 | Events

Author Maxwell Ivey Jr., also known as “The Blind Blogger,” will visit Dog Ears Bookstore & Café, 688 Abbott Road, Buffalo, for a book-signing event beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, June 2.

In “Leading You Out of the Darkness Into the Light,” Ivey shares his personal journey from failed, morbidly obese carnival owner to successful amusement equipment broker, life coach and self-published author. The book includes 11 actionable exercises along with answers.

“I include my email address so you can report on your progress,” said Ivey about his book. “Too many have read a book, watched a video or went to a seminar but still weren’t able to accomplish their goals. I didn’t want this to be just another book. I honestly believe this book gives you the chance to change your life.”

Born into a family of carnival owners in Texas, Ivey started losing his sight at age four. Ivey’s natural zest for life allowed him to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, graduate college and work in the family business until his father’s death forced its closure. He then started his own online business helping people buy and sell amusement equipment. People were inspired by his perseverance and encouraged him to share more of his experiences as a blind entrepreneur. He has since written two motivational books and is working on his third about his solo adventure to New York City as one of the 2016 Amtrak Writers In Residence. He has also become known worldwide as “The Blind Blogger” thanks to his message of finding solutions instead of making excuses. You can learn more about Ivey at www.theblindblogger.net.
