The Greater East Aurora Chamber of Commerce is offering a free smartphone app, available on Google Play Store and the Apple Store, marketing and promoting area businesses and activities to local residents and visitors from around Western New York and Southern Ontario.
The Greater East Aurora Chamber includes the communities of Aurora, Colden, East Aurora, Elma, Holland Marilla and Wales. They have partnered with The Magellan Group LLC and the Accessium Group, Inc. to reach the nearly two-thirds of the population that has a smartphone.
The EA App is designed to provide information on area services, recreational activities, schools, events, emergency services, businesses and local news plus information on attractions, shopping, dining and accommodations for visitors to the area. Chamber members will sign on to promote their businesses including providing coupons or special offers. In addition, a news feed will provide information important to the area from the East Aurora Advertiser, East Aurora Bee and Buffalo News.
This is the most complete community-based app in WNY that also provides chamber members the opportunity to advertise their business to thousands of potential app users.
“This is especially timely with the holiday shopping season closing in on us,” said Greater East Aurora Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Gary Grote. “It provides our members with the means to directly target and engage prospective customers.”
“Our goal is to provide a technologically-enabled marketing tool for the chamber and its members,” added Marta Hiczewski, Magellan Group partner. “Mobile marketing is the newest and most direct manner in which businesses can build customer awareness and activity. We not only design and create the app, but we maintain a hand in managing the daily workings to keep it fresh and topical.”
Ryan Erwin, CEO of Accessium Group, Inc. agreed. “The pervasiveness of smartphones and advances in software design has allowed small businesses and organizations to take advantage of applications for marketing. We are able to push marketing information to consumers based on triggers such as location, or with planned event schedules.”

Accessium Group, Inc. provides customized IT solutions to businesses, healthcare and non-profits. Their joint venture specializes in the technology and marketing aspects of mobility marketing.
