Fetch n’ Catch, WNY’s premier dog daycare center

By Lauren Kirchmyer

Do you need a dog sitter? Someone to help train or groom your favorite four-legged friend? Consider Fetch n’ Catch, located at 6517 Transit Rd., Suite 1, Bowmansville.

Fetch n’ Catch offers clients dog daycare, overnight boarding, grooming, training classes, indoor swimming, in-home pet sitting and dog walking. The business, which opened in October 2012, has the largest indoor area in Western New York and is staffed 24/7 for their overnight guests. For the daycare dogs, their staff will offer activities and games, and practice obedience skills all day.

“This provides mental stimulation, which is just as important as physical exercise,” said Dan Poirier, co-founder. “In addition we have an indoor swimming pool, which the dogs absolutely love.”

Outside, Fetch n’ Catch has a top-grade pet turf, providing a clean surface to run and play. Above all that, the facility has a staff of 20 that’s ready to help you and your beloved furry friend.

“I am confident you won’t find our team’s level of enthusiasm, dedication and love for dogs anywhere else,” Dan added.

The idea of Fetch n’ Catch came about in the winter of 2011. Poirier’s cousin, Mallory Poirier, was dog sitting for a friend and soon came to realize the limited indoor options for exercising your dog during our long winter. Around the same time, Dan was preparing to graduate with a marketing degree. After many conversations, the pair decided to use the concept of a “canine recreation center” for a business plan project. They researched what the Buffalo market offered verses what the community needed and knew they had to turn their idea into a business.

“My favorite part of running this business day-to-day is seeing satisfied customers and happy dogs,” Dan said. “I love the peace of mind that we provide to our clients, knowing their dog is having fun and receiving the highest level of care.”
