Fitz and the Tantrums to perform at Rapids Theatre in Niagara Falls

Nov 2, 2016 | Entertainment

Fitz and The Tantrums recently embarked on their “Come Get Your Love” North American headline tour, which kicked off with a pair of West Coast dates – an Oct. 12 show at the historic Fox Theater in Oakland, Calif. and a hometown concert at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Oct. 14.

Their hit song “HandClap,” which the band has performed on shows including Good Morning America, America’s Got Talent and Dancing with the Stars, can also be heard in the advertising campaign for the Fiat 500X Crossover and The CW’s 2016 Summer and Fall Image Campaigns. The band also performed the song on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The song is Top 20 on the Hot AC chart while Sirius’ Alternative Nation has voted “HandClap” the No. 1 song on more than one occasion for its “Top 18” countdown.

The Los Angeles Times called “HandClap” a contender for “2016’s Song of the Summer” in a feature taking a look at the songwriting process behind the track and radio’s ecstatic response to it. “Fitz & The Tantrums deliver hook upon hook on catchy new single ‘HandClap,’ ” said Idolator, and Harper’s Bazaar hailed the track as a “cheeky dance floor seduction ballad.”

USA Today put “Roll Up,” another album track, on its list of the “10 best songs of the week,” noting how it’s “infectious, pop-y, and hard not to bop around to when it floats in your ears.” The Boston Globe observed, “the album proves emphatically that Fitz can still craft a catchy chorus.”

Fitz and The Tantrums is the follow-up to More Than Just a Dream, which has racked up over 76 million album streams to date. The 2013 album contained the Gold-certified singles “The Walker” and “Out Of My League.” Both tracks topped Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart – a feat accomplished by only three other artists in the chart’s 25-year history.

Fitz and The Tantrums are: Fitz (vocals), Noelle Scaggs (vocals/tambourine), James King (saxophone), Jeremy Ruzumna (keyboards), John Wicks (drums) and Joseph Karnes (bass).

Fitz and the Tantrums will be performing at the Rapids Theatre in Niagara Falls on Friday, Nov. 18. Tickets are available at www.fitzandthetantrums.com/tour.
