Greater East Aurora Chamber of Commerce Plans 47th Annual Street Festival & Sidewalk Sale

The Greater East Aurora Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its 47th annual Street Festival & Sidewalk Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 30, along Main Street in the heart of the Village of East Aurora. The event will feature more than 100 vendors, activities for kids and families, food and entertainment, Chalk Walk Murals, Operation Kids and much more!

East Aurora native Mary Burt will sing the National Anthem at 9:45 a.m. with the American Legion Post #362 Color Guard. Other highlights include the popular Chalk Walk Murals, sponsored by the Town of Aurora Recreation Department, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; a performance by the Rince Na Tiarna Irish Dancers at 10:30 a.m.; and a Unyts Blood Drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Operation Kids, an educational program for young entrepreneurs ages 6 to 15, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. With guidance from the Greater East Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Operation Kids showcases youth businesses and provides basic lessons in creating a business plan, finance, customer service and more. The program is sponsored by University Pediatric Dentistry at ToyTown, with support from Fisher-Price, Hidden Valley Animal Adventure, Tops Friendly Markets and Astronics Corporation.

“This popular community event allows us to showcase not only our Main Street merchants, but businesses across the village, including popular destinations such as Elm Street, Riley Street, the Oakwood Plaza and our West End Business District,” said Gary Grote, executive director of the Greater East Aurora Chamber of Commerce. “We encourage families from East Aurora, Western New York and beyond to join us and get to know all of our village businesses and attractions.”
