Mary Queen of Angels School to celebrate Catholic Schools Week

Students, teachers and staff at Mary Queen of Angels School in Cheektowaga will celebrate National Catholic Schools Week from Jan. 31 through Feb. 6 with a variety of fun events and activities.

On Monday, Feb. 1, students will attend a kickoff Mass at Queen of Martyrs Church at noon, and will have a tie-dye dress down day. And on Tuesday, Feb. 2, students will dress to reflect any decade and will also be allowed to invite a guest to lunch at MQA.

Wednesday, Feb. 3, is fake mustache day, and students in grades three through five will take a field trip to Kleinhans Music Hall in Buffalo to see the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra perform. Thursday, Feb. 4, is sunglasses day, and students in grades five through seven will also visit the Buffalo Museum of Science.

The fun concludes on Friday, Feb. 5, when students can wear comfortable pajamas to school and enjoy a pancake breakfast. Rob Allen, the Milk Magician, will also be on hand to entertain students in kindergarten through grade five.

Mary Queen of Angels will also hold a Super Sunday Open House from 12:15 to 2:15 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, at the school, located at 170 Rosewood Terrace (off George Urban Boulevard), Cheektowaga.
