Keeping everyone safe is paramount in the minds of all at Mount Mercy Academy. Trying to plan an open house during a pandemic is no easy task but Mount Mercy Academy, under the leadership of Admissions Director Tina Webster, has developed safe alternatives to the traditional open house.

Mount Mercy has begun hosting Discover Mercy on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Enrollment is limited to 10 students each day and visitors will need to wear a mask and have a temperature check and practice social distancing before taking part in the program. Guests will meet with current students, members of the Mount Mercy faculty and staff and receive a tour of the school while witnessing the daily life of a Mercy Girl. Guests must register in advance and registration may be done through the Mount Mercy Academy website underneath the admissions tab (

Personal tours are available for families that wish to visit the school in person.  Guests must follow the protocols for Covid-19. Tours may be arranged during non-school hours through the Mount Mercy Academy website.

A virtual tour has been prepared and will soon be posted on the school’s website. In addition, a virtual open house will be held on Zoom. Guests must register for the tou, and more information will be posted soon.

Realizing that not everyone is comfortable with attending events during the pandemic, promotional materials are available by request on the website.  Materials will be mailed or are available for pickup in the school office.

In addition, Mount Mercy will be offering its Entrance Exam Review course instruction both in-person and through distance learning. Enrollment for in-person instruction is limited in order to maintain safe social distancing protocols.

The review course will be held on Nov. 9, 10, 12 and 13. Classes will be held from 3:30 to 6 p.m.

The Catholic High School Entrance Exam will be offered both in-person at Mount Mercy and online on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 8 a.m.
