It’s not too late to register for Mount Mercy Academy’s Eighth Annual Golf Tournament! Golfers are encouraged to sign up early so they won’t be disappointed. This year the tournament is being held at Cloverbank Country Club in Hamburg. The event, which will now take place on Monday, Aug. 29, is held to benefit the Mount Mercy Academy Athletic Department.
The $150 registration fee for a single golfer or $600 for a foursome includes lunch, green fees, cart, happy hour and dinner. Registration will begin at 10 a.m., followed by lunch at 11 and a noon shotgun start. Happy Hour will start at 4:30 with dinner at 5. Non-golfers may attend happy hour and the dinner for $65. In addition, there will be contests for putting, closest to the pin and longest drive. There will also be a number of great raffle items, as well as silent auction items.
Once again highlighting this year’s tournament is the awarding of the fifth annual Hooper Award, named in honor of the late Kathleen A. Suchan Hooper, an alumna of the Class of 1966. Hooper was an avid golfer, a loyal alumna and a generous benefactor of Mount Mercy. The Hooper Award will be given to the top foursome and the winners’ names will be inscribed on a trophy which will be displayed at Mount Mercy.
Reservations and sponsorship opportunities are still available. The tournament is also accepting donations of raffle items. Additional Information is available by emailing Meagan Saxe at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 825-8796, ext. 306.
