West Seneca Office of Disaster Preparedness plans emergency responder training

The West Seneca Office of Disaster Preparedness is pleased to announce its second annual emergency responder training: Traditions Training Combat Ready – Fighting Complacency in Emergency Services. This training will take place on Saturday, Oct. 1 at West Seneca East High School starting at 8 a.m. Training is $10 per person and proceeds will benefit the Western New York Fireman’s Memorial Exhibit Center.

The four-hour interactive, multi-media based presentation will discuss the presence and effects of complacency in emergency services along with how and why we must combat it. Speaker Ricky Riley will discuss proven tips and techniques along with the readiness of attitude and equipment on the fire scene.

Riley is a 32-year member of the fire service and is currently the operations chief for the city of Clearwater, Fla. He has served for 20 years with the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue in Virginia. As president of Traditions Training he lectures across the country on a number of fire service topics.
