Pacific Underground Catering to celebrate first anniversary with culinary arts open house event

May 20, 2022 | In the News

Pacific Underground Catering owner and chef Marleta Stansberry wants to do something special to celebrate the first anniversary of her unique business in the Village of East Aurora, and she’s inviting the community to take part in the festivities.

A skilled artisan who studied media sculpture at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington, Marleta took her artistic talents in an entirely new direction by embarking upon a career based on her love of the culinary arts. On June 18 of last year, she officially opened Pacific Underground Catering at 700 Main St. in East Aurora, just two doors down from Vidler’s.

Thanks to the ongoing pandemic and a challenging bout with COVID herself — not to mention some water issues that disrupted business at her location — her first year was anything but easy. And now with a slight change of course to a focus more on cooking classes and in-store events, she is ready to celebrate the beginning of year two with an open house event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 18.

The event will feature delicious food samples and items for purchase and several vendors, including Little Finch Party Styling, all in an effort to bring more attention to her location and her event-hosting capabilities. From hands-on cooking classes and on-site celebrations to corporate team-building events and art classes for children, Pacific Underground Catering boasts high-quality culinary offerings that have drawn rave reviews from a wide variety of on-site and off-site clients and customers.

Marleta describes herself as “a mom, a chef, a food enthusiast and an educator.” Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, she has called Western New York her home for the past 20 years. “I am passionate about beautiful, great-tasting food and creating wonderful food memories developed in an atmosphere of fine hospitality. My number one goal is to provide positive experiences filled with delicious memories for all of my clients!”
