Record pumpkin weighs in at 2,554 pounds

Scott Andrusz of Williamsville brought in his pumpkin hoping to break the NYS record.

On Oct. 1, the national and state records were broken for the largest pumpkin that weighed in at 2,554 pounds!  Local grower Scott Andrusz of Williamsville brought his pumpkin to the weigh-off at the Great Pumpkin Farm hoping to break the NYS record but instead broke the national record as well! The pumpkin will be on display through Oct. 16th at the Great Pumpkin Farm.

The Great Pumpkin Farm saw the first 1,000-pound pumpkin during its 1996 Fall Festival – 1,061 pounds – and it went right into the Guinness Book of World Records!  Since then they have been seeing pumpkins over 2,000 pounds!
