Apr 7, 2017 | Sports Scene

The Rochester Americans announced that the team has partnered with Monroe County and the Department of Environmental Services to host Refresh Recycling Night on Wednesday, April 12 when the Amerks take on the Binghamton Senators at 7:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.

“Recycling is truly a collaborative effort requiring participation from a diverse array of community partners,” said Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo. “We want to share our message that recycling not only protects our environment, it creates and sustains jobs right here in Monroe County. I am proud to partner with the Amerks to bring this message not just to hockey fans but to all county residents with a stake in the future of our community.”

“The Amerks are proud to partner with Monroe County in an effort to boost awareness and improve the overall recycling outcomes in our community,” said Rob Kopacz, Vice President of Business Operations for the Amerks. “We all need to do our part in making Monroe County a better place to live and this is just a small way of showing our support of this great initiative.”

As part of the partnership with Monroe County, any fan that brings a recyclable item to the Monroe County EcoPark will receive a free ticket voucher to the game on April 12 against the Senators. The EcoPark is located at 10 Avion Drive in Rochester and is open on Wednesdays from 1 to 6:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Members of the Department of Environmental Services will have an informational table located in the upper concourse prior to the game where fans can receive recycling tips and learn more about the county-wide Refresh Recycling campaign. In addition, a limited number of educational magnets containing important recycling information will be available to select fans as a postgame handout.
