Sep 26, 2022 | Sports Scene

The Rochester Knighthawks announced their schedule for the 2022-23 National Lacrosse League regular season. The Knighthawks are slated to open their third NLL campaign on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. when they visit the Georgia Swarm as part of the league’s Face Off Weekend.

The Knighthawks, who will remain in the NLL’s Eastern Conference this coming season, will play only nine of the 15 teams in 2022-23, including every team in their respective conference at least twice as part of their 18-game (nine home, nine road) regular season schedule. Rochester will again be joined in the Eastern Conference by the Albany FireWolves, Buffalo Bandits, Georgia Swarm, Halifax Thunderbirds, New York Riptide, Philadelphia Wings and Toronto Rock.

Rochester will have three matchups each against Georgia and Philadelphia, while also having a pair of contests (one home, one road) against Albany, Buffalo, Halifax, New York and Toronto. The remainder of the Knighthawks’ schedule feature single meetings with two of the league’s newest expansion franchises in Panther City Lacrosse Club and the Las Vegas Desert Dogs.

After opening the season on the road in Georgia, the team returns home to host the Toronto Rock on Opening Knight on Saturday, Dec. 10 at Segar & Sciortino Field at The Blue Cross Arena.

The Knigththawks get their first look at Panther City, which debuted in the NLL this past season, in their first matchup after the New Year when the club makes its inaugural visit to Rochester on Friday, Jan. 7.

Rochester never plays more than two consecutive games on the road this season but will see a stretch in March where the team will play three of its four games during the month on the road, including a trip to Las Vegas for its lone meeting of the season against the Desert Dogs. The Knighthawks will play their final three games of the regular season at home, marking the team’s longest homestand of the year.

The Knighthawks will play all but two of their home games on Saturday nights except for Friday, Jan. 20 against intrastate rival Buffalo and a matinee matchup against Philadelphia on Sunday, March 19. All contests will start at 7 p.m. apart from the games on Jan. 20 and March 19, which will begin at 7:30 and 3 p.m., respectively.

The team’s busiest months are January, March and April with four games each.

The on-sale date for all Knighthawks single-game tickets will be announced in the coming weeks. Season tickets for the Knighthawks for the 2022-23 season are on sale now and start as low as $18 per seat per game. More information on Knighthawks season tickets can be found at www.rochesterknighthawks.com/memberships.
