Roycroft Campus has reopened with new hours and events

Jul 29, 2020 | Arts & Culture

The Roycroft Campus in East Aurora has reopened with new hours and events, as well as enhanced health and safety protocols. The public can explore the Campus’ historic buildings and shops at their leisure Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., however tours and museum tickets must be reserved in advance.

The Roycroft Inn remains open seven days a week for both dining and overnight accommodations; restaurant reservations can be made through Open Table or by calling the Inn directly at 652-5552. Visitors to the Campus are required to wear face masks and maintain social distance inside the historic buildings and while on a tour. The Campus is also following all current mandatory procedures in compliance with New York State’s reopening guidelines.

“The Campus has always been a social center, a place of learning, and the heart of our community,” said Curt Maranto, executive director. “We are proud to be able to continue welcoming guests with an altered experience for safety purposes, while keeping the spirit of the Roycroft alive.”

The decision has also been made to cancel the Roycroft Campus’ annual Fall Festival planned for October; the Campus cancelled their Art & Antique Show this past June as well. In lieu, the Campus will host a new small-scale event series called Artists in the Garden on Saturdays in August, featuring one artist or crafter each week in the Copper Shop garden from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Plans are underway to continue the event throughout September; interested artists are encouraged to contact the Campus to sign up.

“The Roycroft has weathered many storms since it was founded nearly 125 years ago,” Maranto continued. “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported us through our closure and are thrilled to see people back on Campus enjoying the rich history and culture that has been preserved here.”
