Rural Outreach Center to offer Living with Diabetes sessions

Apr 16, 2019 | Events

Those who live with diabetes know it is a challenging condition that must be monitored closely. This includes bloodwork, medications, making daily choices about foods that are eaten, exercise routine, fluid intake and planning ahead to maintain good health.

The public is invited to come and join other individuals who want to learn more about diabetes by participating in five seminar/discussion sessions to be held at the Rural Outreach Center at 730 Olean Road, East Aurora, beginning April 23. Other dates include April 30, May 14, 21 and 28. Each seminar is from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Don Birdd will lead the seminar sessions. Birdd is a retired Buffalo State College science professor who has lived with diabetes nearly 25 years. He will provide current research materials explaining ways to achieve and maintain good health.

Family members are also invited to attend these sessions. To register, please contact Ruthie Hunt, RN, at 220-4834. For more information on the Rural Outreach Center, call 240-2220 or visit www.theroc.co.
